Welcome to our Euroleague and Eurocup Fantasy basketball Section. We are very excited to lunch this and hopefully you will find it useful. Each week, we’ll be breaking down the Euroleague and Eurocup games in two parts respectively.
The following principles will apply to both our Euroleague and Eurocup picks.
Its important to remember that Euroleague Fantasy Challenge is a marathon, not a sprint. This isn't a one-off game; it’s a multi-round competition that lasts for months. When building your team, focus on strategies that will help grow your budget. A bigger budget equals more flexibility as the game progresses through the season. A useful metric to monitor is the points per credit for each player.
To maximize flexibility each round, we recommend splitting your players into two groups: 4–6 in Turn 1 (T1) and the rest in Turn 2 (T2). This way, you can cover potential underperformance from one player. For T1, we suggest taking calculated risks with lower-priced players, while opting for more stable, reliable options in T2. For positions where risk is minimal (such as the coach position), consistency is key.
When it comes to selecting a player, their performance across different statistical categories will influence our decision. Our team focuses on key stats to evaluate player utility. Here are some of the important elements we consider:
FPT Scoring Breakdown: We dive deeper into how players accumulate their fantasy points. For example, if two players score 15 FPTs, but one player achieves this mainly by scoring while the other does so through a balanced combination of scoring, rebounding, assists, fouls drawn, etc., we’ll choose the latter for their all-around contribution.
Minutes Played vs. Credits: The ratio of minutes played to the credits averaged can give us an indication of how efficiently a player is performing relative to the time they’re on the court.
Price vs. FPTs: The price-to-performance ratio shows us which players are undervalued based on their current production. We look for players who offer great value for their price.
We are also looking at some key stats you you may also find on the official Euroleague Stats page and/or on the Stats tab on the Euroleague Fantasy Challenge Official page.
Fouls Drawn (FD): This can indicate players who contribute to "easy" fantasy points.
Minutes Played: This helps ensure players are playing significant minutes and are crucial to their team's success.
Last 5 or Last 3 Games: This is a great way to spot "breakout players" who may not be highly valued but are performing at a higher level recently.
Injuries: Teams facing injury crises will often give more playing time to low-value players who are typically outside the rotation.
Lastly, we also take into concideration the below 2 aspects:
Roster Changes: Player releases or significant roster additions can alter team dynamics, impacting minutes played and player performance. We monitor these changes closely to make informed decisions on new players.
Upcoming Matchups: When selecting players, it's important to consider their upcoming games and matchups. This approach allows us to avoid constantly switching out the same positions, ensuring we can stick to our strategy over the long run.
Last thing: Always remember to trust yourselves instead of some random internet website right? Have fun
