Round 10

A smile in our face

Round 9 was undoubtedly the best Round for our team so far: 217.5 points, 2.8 credits gained, and a spectacular jump of 312 positions, placing us now at 392 in the global ranking. But beyond the numbers, what truly stands out is the efficiency and robustness of our roster—especially in a week where not all of our transfers were successful. This Round confirmed the value of our long-term planning: selling players at the peak of their overperformance (like JENSEN) and trusting players who had a bad debut with our team (BENITEZ) paid off exactly as we expected.

This week’s preparation is more compact, but one important element must be highlighted: Round 9 is the first Round of the second phase, meaning that the Round 1 matchups offer valuable hints for what we should expect now. With this in mind, we will keep FLYNN, despite his second consecutive disappointing performance. We expect him to bounce back to his usual standards. On the other hand, we will transfer out GACH, even though he was the MVP of our team last Round. He increased his value by 0.9 credits, and since we want to reassess the second Center position, this is a strategic moment to make the switch. To be honest, if his next game were away, we would feel more comfortable keeping him—he clearly performs better on the road than at home.

For the coach position, we will select Andrejs ZAKELJ (8.0 CR) from Buducnost. The Montenegrin team has been dominant at home with large-margin wins. London Lions have secured some away victories, but only against the weaker teams of the group. We expect Buducnost to prevail comfortably.

Alongside GACH, LAVRINOVICH and MITCHELL will also leave our team, as they have limited impact. As mentioned earlier—and given the mediocre recent performances of our main Center—our primary objective is to secure a Turn 1 Center. After examining the options, we decided to bring back a familiar face: Kevin KOKILA (8.9 CR). He had an excellent game in the first Round, remains his team’s main Center, and Trento appears vulnerable in that position. KOKILA regularly plays over 20 minutes and has shown the ability to deliver very high PIR numbers when in good rhythm.

The other two additions will also come from Turn 1, giving us maximum flexibility to replace underperforming players later in the Round.

Josiah-Jordan JAMES (6.0 CR): A Forward who consistently plays over 20 minutes, with an advantageous matchup against Hamburg. He exceeded his value in the last two games, so we hope he can boost both our score and budget.

Zsombor MARONKA (5.1 CR): His value dropped in the last two games, but the risk is minimal and the potential for a bounce-back is there.

HARPER will remain our captain for Turn 1, while FLYNN stands ready for Turn 2 if needed.

With hopes of maintaining our momentum and climbing even higher in the rankings, our team for this Round is as follows:
