Round 15

Elite Guards

In Round 14, we achieved our targets: 196 points and 2.5 credits gained. The selected coach delivered the desired 20 points, while the players chosen for Turn 1 were excellent, scoring 29 and 27 points respectively. We gained some positions in the global standings, although not many, as a large number of teams also posted high scores in this Round.

For Round 15, the time has finally come to bring in our desired Guard, Devante JONES (15.2 CR), and to do so without sacrificing one of the top Guards of our team. We had some unused budget from the previous Round and decided to sell one of our most expensive Forwards, GACH. He is playing an away game, where he typically produces lower scores compared to his home performances. The timing of this move also aligns well with our Turn strategy, as HARPER and GIBSON are playing in Turn 1 and we wanted a dominant option for Turn 2. JONES plays at least 25 minutes even in away games, and in the first-round matchup against Lietkabelis he recorded his season-high performance.

We also considered replacing NOUA, as he faces a difficult upcoming schedule and Aris recently added Kostas ANTETOKOUNMPO to their roster. However, we couldn’t find a suitable alternative. Additionally, Aris did not play this weekend, allowing their players to rest, and NOUA is scheduled for Turn 1, which is valuable given our limited options in that Turn.

For the coach position this Round, we selected Diego OCAMPO (6.8 CR). Manresa had a tough game against Baskonia in the domestic league, which raised some concerns, but we expect them to bounce back against Neptunas. In any case, our remaining budget was limited, and we were satisfied to secure JONES without sacrificing key assets from our team.

The Forward replacing GACH will be Rok RADOVIC (4.0 CR), a minimum-value Forward who still receives some playing time.

For the first time this season, we will not use all four available trades. We are satisfied with our roster, which includes three elite Guards and one potential high scorer in WILLIAMS, two efficient Centers playing in different Turns, and NOUA as our Forward option for Turn 1. If NOUA underperforms, we have the flexibility to use THOMASSON in Turn 2. If execution matches expectations, another high-scoring performance should follow.

HARPER will be our captain for Turn 1, with JONES available to take over in Turn 2 if needed.
