Resilience comes with Power

Round 15 was a triumph of our long-term effort to increase the team’s budget throughout the season. We managed to absorb the underperformance of two key players (HARPER and GIBSON), take full advantage of the season-high performance of our newcomer JONES, and still reach 200.5 points in a Round where many teams struggled due to low scores from star players. As a result, we climbed almost 200 positions in the global standings and currently sit among the top 0.83% of participants in this year’s Eurocup Fantasy!
For Round 16, the objective is to maintain the same pace. We decided to replace NOUA and WILLIAMS, along with changing the coach. With NOUA, we were somewhat fortunate, as Aris’ game was decided after two overtimes and most of his PIR was accumulated in the second overtime. WILLIAMS performed adequately, but it seems that these credits can now be invested more efficiently with higher upside. Finally, ANIGBATA will also be replaced to provide greater flexibility in the Forward position.
For the coach this Round, we selected Erdem CAN (9.5 CR). Turk Telekom are chasing a top-two position in their group and are playing at home against Lietkabelis. We expect a comfortable win that should secure the full 20 points.
After the replacement of NOUA and WILLIAMS, our roster now features elite Guards and Centers, an undervalued Forward playing in Turn 2, and sufficient budget to invest in new players. This also allowed us to recruit a significantly more expensive coach, strengthening the overall structure of the team.
Despite this strong setup, the Forward options for Turn 1 remain limited and unconvincing. We considered targeting a stronger option for Turn 2, but that would have resulted in a highly unbalanced roster. Several alternatives were evaluated, including our old acquaintances KIRKWOOD and GACH, as well as the promising LEDLUM and TAROLIS. Ultimately, we decided to take a calculated risk by selecting two Turn 1 Forwards with the potential to increase their value. The long-term objective is to position ourselves to acquire the top Forward of this season’s tournament in one of the upcoming Rounds: CREEK.
Choosing the Turn 1 Forward duo was not straightforward. Initially, AIMAQ and JOGELA were selected, but doubts remained. We eventually opted for the higher-cost solution by investing in Anthony BROWN (12.6 CR) and complementing him with Berkan DURMAZ (6.3 CR). BROWN is Besiktas’ primary Forward and contributes across multiple statistical categories, including points, rebounds, and assists, while averaging 20–25 minutes of playing time. DURMAZ offers solid value for his price, and we hope he can deliver accordingly.
Although we are satisfied with both the roster and the coach selection, some uncertainty remains regarding the Forward choices. Nevertheless, we stay optimistic, as this team has repeatedly shown the ability to handle unexpected developments. A solid performance here could set the stage for another major leap forward.
JONES will be our captain for Turn 1, with HARPER available to take over in Turn 2 if needed.
