Round 6
Its ok to stumble

Round 6 was the best round for our team so far (179.05 points and 2.7 credits), but it could have been even better if we hadn’t committed hubris by not selecting HARPER as our captain. That mistake cost us the chance to celebrate a score of over 200 points. We owe an apology to the player who, for two consecutive years, has been the number one choice for EuroCup fantasy managers, with around 32.8% of them including him in their teams.
To be honest, our last trades didn’t help much, and in this round, we decided to acknowledge our mistakes and proceed with corrective moves.
First of all, regarding the coach, this round we found it difficult to make a decision. Initially, we were tempted to go for a budget option such as the coach of Slask Wroclaw, BAGATSKIS, or the coach of London Lions, SABONIS. In the end, we decided to minimize risk and aim for an option that could give us close to 20 points. Therefore, we selected our trusted coach Dusan ALIMPIJEVIC (9.1 CR), as Besiktas lost its last game and tends to perform particularly well at home.
The first player we will replace is TANASKOVIC, bringing in Kevin KOKILA (8.7 CR) instead. TANASKOVIC plays in Turn 2, and we cannot afford to have both our centers in the same turn. We should have foreseen this issue when choosing between the two last round—this oversight cost us 16 points, as KOKILA returned to his strong form. We were also disappointed by MILETIC, but we’ll keep him for now since his team faces Manresa at home, which appears weak at the center position. Our plan is to switch him next round for ALEXANDER, who has returned to action and seems to be performing at last year’s top level. Hopefully, MILETIC will increase his value a bit in the upcoming game.
The next two trades involve MINCHEV and OZDEMIROGLU, who will be replaced by Noah KIRKWOOD (8.9 CR) and Nike SIBANDE (8.5 CR). MINCHEV had a nice game, and we see this as an opportunity to capitalize on his value increase, as his PIR ceiling does not appear very high. We decided to bring in his teammate, who performed well in the domestic league this weekend, has a lower value, and a similar profile.
As for OZDEMIROGLU, we admit we had a positive bias toward him, as he’s an enjoyable player to watch. However, from a fantasy perspective, he faces a lot of competition at his position, and there are more promising alternatives. We believe one of them is KIRKWOOD, who has been consistently solid. Despite the return of NIZIOL, KIRKWOOD continues to play an important role for his team, averaging 20–25 minutes and contributing across several statistical categories.
DURMAZ will stay with us for one more round. We hope he delivers a good performance against Lietkabelis before we eventually trade him out. The two superstars of our team, HARPER and MILETIC are playing in different Rounds and they will be the candidates for the Captain position.
Round 6 gave us both satisfaction and lessons to learn. Our team continues to grow steadily, and we are adjusting our choices with greater precision each week. With a balanced mix of reliable scorers and rising-value players, we aim to keep both points and credits increasing. Let’s see if Round 7 will be the one to finally push us past the 180-point mark and beyond.
