     There are some moments that are far more important than scoring a basket. getting a steal or a block, performing a flashy assist or other fancy moves! And these should be celebrated and act as a constant reminder that nothing would have never changed in our societies if some people had not taken a stand against injustice! A quick homage to these moments is the below! 

     On this day in 1966, in what is widely considered the greatest game in NCAA history, Texas Western, coached by Don Haskins, defeated Kentucky, led by the “Baron” Adolph Rupp, in the national championship game. Haskins used only seven players that night — all of them African American — men who, in that era, were still subjected to degrading and deeply racist slurs. The blow that Haskins and his players dealt to racism was so powerful that it helped open the door for the increasing recruitment of Black athletes across college basketball programs.
